Fall Meeting, November 17th, 2007

The fall meeting was held at Chances ‘R’ Restaurant in York, NE. The meeting was called to order by President Terry West and introductions were made. Treasure report was given by Greg Young. The fund raising is doing very well and a ‘thank you’ to Deanne once again for handling this for the association. Report was approved and accepted.

Old Business
    A recap of General Reggey’s speech and the discussion that followed during Parent’s Weekend was given. He touched on many topics including the 2011 class, C3 global engagement, security issues and the grass roots program. Health care for cadets was a major topic. Staffing changes are being made at the clinic and discussion of how to encourage cadets to utilize it without worrying about repercussions followed.
    The Tailgate this fall was felt to have been a success. Thanks to everyone!

New Business
    Patch fund raiser to include 08 & 09 yrs. Motion moved and accepted to purchase 300 of each year.
    All Academy Ball invitations are ready. A security card will be included requiring information so a security check can be done on each guest. Karen stated the Officer’s Club was reserved. General Lempke has agreed to be our guest speaker. Gift cards from Best Buy will be given to all cadets.
    Graduate gifts for 2008 will be finalized later. ‘Boards’ for dress mess was discussed as an idea.
    At the spring meeting, new officers will take over duties. Website still needs to be taken over by someone. Thanks goes out to Alan Dorland for all his hard work in getting it up and going and for maintaining it for the association even from Texas!
    Boxes for cadet finals were filled by parents. Bibas’ will take care of the shipping of them.
