United States Air Force Academy

Parents Association of Nebraska

About the Association

The purpose of the Parent's Association of Nebraska is to support the morale of the cadets attending the United States Air Force Academy and that of their families.   Cadets of member parents are the focus of a number of Association projects throughout each year.

  • Birthday cards are sent to the Cadets.

  • “Care packages” are sent just prior to their fall scholastic finals.

  • Graduation gifts are presented each year to the graduating Seniors.

  • We sponsor a congratulatory ad in the Academy’s yearbook for Nebraska graduates.

  • The Association hosts a tailgate party at the football game during the Academy’s “Parent’s Weekend”.

  • We share hosting of the “All Academies Ball” in December of each year with other service academy Associations in Nebraska.

  • We contribute to the "Rando Fund", which is administered by the Academy and provides financial travel support to any cadet, regardless of his/her state or country of residence for emergency leave or to attend the funeral of one of their fellow students.

In addition, the Association serves the state of Nebraska as a resource for educators, graduating High School students who are interested in attending the Air Force Academy, and their parents.  If you need someone to talk to who can answer your questions, help you through the process and give you some first hand information about what life at the Academy, and life as the parent of an Academy Cadet is all about, give us a call or drop us an email.  We'll be happy to talk with you!

We generally meet three times each year.  We hold a spring meeting in March, an Appointee Orientation Luncheon in June, and a fall meeting in October.  Our members all volunteer their time and talent.  The activities and minimal operating expenses of the Association are funded by annual dues, and membership in the Association is strictly voluntary.  Participation is a great way to connect with other Nebraska parents and share Academy experiences.  It’s also a support resource that’s available to discuss concerns and answer the many questions that a parent will have during a Cadets’ tenure at the Air Force Academy.
